Competition Details

Requirements:

947 Ride Roburg is hosting three events this year. We require three basic illustration designs to promote each event, to use on digital & print branding collateral. The designs need to capture the culture, arts and vibe of Joburg for each cyclist.

Please note your designs have to be of a cyclist, mountain biker and child on a bike and will be used as an icon to represent each event.

Events in 2021:

947 Ride Joburg Road – 21 Nov 2021
An iconic 94.7 km race through the city of Johannesburg.
947 Ride Joburg MTB – 14 Nov 2021
25 & 55 km mountain bike race inside Steyn City.
947 Ride Joburg Kids – 13 Nov 2021
Kids ride and race inside Steyn City.

Why enter?

The winner will get R50 000 prize money.
You get to be part of the branding of Joburg’s most iconic cycling event.
Your work will be featured on the 947 Ride Joburg website and in materials used to promote the event.
You get to add these designs to your portfolio

You need to submit:

One design concept to represent a road cyclist
One design concept to represent a mountain biker
One design concept to represent a child on a bicycle

Guidelines:

Your designs need to be sent in the following formats:

Illustrations must be submitted in .jpg or .png formats, 72dpi format.
JPG compression quality of 12 (or the highest quality setting).
File size must be a maximum of 3MB, 3000px wide for each illustration.
The winner will be required to provide vector files of illustrations.

Follow the brand guideline

Please use the colour pallet as provided in this document.
Please do not add any text to your designs.
Please use the brand colours in design, focusing on the primary colours.

Entries to the competition must be submitted here by 12 pm on the final deadline day 29 March 2021.
Works entered after this date will not be included in the competition.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before submitting work for the 947 Ride Joburg competition. You will be prompted to agree to the Terms and Conditions before you submit an entry.
By submitting your entry you agree that you have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

This competition runs from 24 February to 29 March 2021 on 947 Ride Joburg (https://ridejoburg.co.za/).
There is no entry fee necessary to enter this competition.
All entrants grant 947 Ride Joburg the right to reproduce work selected in the Illustration Competition on the 947 Ride Joburg website and in materials used to promote the event, the competition and/or future related promotions.
The competition is open to designers and artists aged 18 or over.
The prize is not negotiable, not transferrable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
The winner will be notified by phone call and/or email within 3 days of the closing date.
The judge’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Participation in this competition excludes employees, directors, members, partners, consultants and agents of, or any other person who, directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoters or marketing service providers of this competition, and the spouses, life partners, immediate family members or business partners of the people or entities listed above.
947 Ride Joburg reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the competition will be notified to participants as soon as possible by the promoter.

WARRANTY

The entrant warrants (guarantees) to 947 Ride Joburg that they have the right to submit work, that the image is original and does not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant will indemnify and keep 947 Ride Joburg indemnified against all claims, demands, actions, suits, proceedings, losses and costs (including any legal costs or reasonable expenses properly incurred and any compensation, costs and disbursements paid by 947 Ride Joburg on the advice of 947 Ride Joburg’s legal advisers to compromise or settle any claim) occasioned to 947 Ride Joburg in consequence of any breach or alleged breach of this warranty.

947 Ride Joburg has a robust system in place for investigating alleged infringement of copyright, which will include assessment by an independent third party. Any entry found to be infringing the work of another illustrator will be disqualified from the competition.
