From ‘I dare’ to ‘I do’... 

Watch as three couples take on the iconic Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg together to prove their love is true.

Will BRIDE JOBURG bond them or break them – it’s time to find out! 

The loving pre-weds will have to show grit, determination and teamwork to withstand the obstacles that stand between them: training for and completing a 97 km bicycle ride, planning a wedding and the opportunity of winning a an unforgettable honeymoon.

Duration

Bride Joburg nominations close on 21July 2023!  If you are chosen, your training will commence soon thereafter until race day on 19 November 2023.

Participation Guidelines

  • Nominate yourself OR another couple about to tie the knot. Make it interesting! 3 couples will be chosen based on their unique stories.
  • The 3 chosen couples will receive instant access to their nearest Virgin Active Health Club as well as a couples-specific training schedule and programme that will have them ready to race on 19 November 2023! 
  • Every Friday until race day, 947 will check in on the couples’ training journey by crossing to them live during the PM Drive show. Every week a different couple will be interviewed.
  • In the final week leading up to the race, all three couples will take part in a Check Your Mate quiz that will be aired live on the PM Drive show. 
  • On 19 November 2023 the three couples will line up for Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg at FNB Stadium to start their race! 
  • On race day, the three Bride Joburg couples will wear uniquely branded bridal outfits compliments of Virgin Active. A specially branded VIRGIN ACTIVE 947 BRIDE JOBURG helium balloon will also be tied to one of the couples’ bike – making them instantly recognisable.
  • The couples will need to complete the entire race to qualify winning any of the prizes.
  • Couples about to tie the knot, whose wedding is set to take place BEFORE 19 November 2023 will be precluded from participating.

Conditions

  • A couple must start and finish the race together
  • To enter, couples must each own their own bikes
  • Individual bicycles or tandems are allowed
  • If all three couples finish the race, a lucky draw will take place to decide the winning couple
  • By entering the competition, all entrants confirm that they have read and accepted the terms and conditions relating to the BRIDE JOBURG promotional competition, which can be found here.

Prizes

On Monday after race day – all three couples will be in the 947 studio where one triumphant couple will be crowned Bride Joburg 2023.
