Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg MTB and KIDS
Date: November 11 & 12, 2023
This past weekend, the vibrant cityscape of Johannesburg gave way to the scenic beauty of Steyn City, which hosted us, once again, for the opening act of Virgin Active 947 Ride Joburg!

Against a sun-soaked sky, 3500 mountain bikers of all ages descended upon the incredible trails, ready to tackle the 10 & 25 km on Saturday, 11 November, and the 50 km distance on Sunday, 12 November.
Challenged, excited and delighted, riders bombed through an ever-changing landscape, of dense woodlands, open grassland, exciting river crossings, river-hugging single track, and challenging climbs.
Steyn City spoiled us with trails designed to thrill and a lush venue to celebrate personal victories.

KIDS
For those participating in the KIDS events, the trails may have been scaled down, but the excitement was anything but small. Exuberant young riders pedalled through specially crafted courses, showcasing their budding love for cycling. The future of the sport looked bright as these young talents embraced the thrill of the ride with happy smiles.
As the day unfolded, the fun continued beyond the trails. Post-race festivities and entertainment by Christiaan Baartman provided a perfect opportunity for riders to unwind and celebrate their achievements.

Thank you to all who joined in the festivities today, pushed limits and smashed boundaries.
Until next year, always say yes when someone invites you on a ride. You are invited… 😉
