947 Ride Joburg Road Closures: We’re shutting down the streets on 21 November!

947 Ride Joburg, hosted by The City of Johannesburg, is less than one week away! And to ensure the safety of all our riders, we’re implementing full road closures along the 97 km route.

Together with the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), and the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport, we will implement closures along sections of the route between 03h00 – 17h00 on Sunday, 21 November 2021.

Some of the major roads affected include:

— Nasrec Road
— Soweto Highway
— N17 Offramp
— Jan Smuts
— Bram Fischer
— Witkoppen
— M1 South
— Joe Slovo
— M2 West

If you have any questions or need help navigating the road closures, please get in touch with our dedicated call centre on 012 012 5205. The call centre is open weekdays from 09h00 to 17h00, and from 04h00 to 17h00 on Ride Joburg Sunday. And make sure to keep an eye out for the bright yellow 947 Ride Joburg traffic advisory boards along the route.

Your co-operation ensures the safety of cyclists and their loved ones, and helps make a difference to many through the Ride for a Purpose campaign, which raised over R 9.3 million for charity in 2019, and R 103 million over the past nine years.
