Press release — The 947 Ride Joburg, South Africa’s biggest annual celebration of cycling, is just a few months away and we couldn’t be more excited to announce that Garmin is joining the team as our official device partner for 2021!
As a leading provider of navigational tools, Garmin is an essential part of peoples’ everyday lives. From automotive and marine to aviation and sports, their devices are built with leading-edge technologies and compelling features to provide exceptional ease of use.
And in the cycling community, Garmin’s GPS bike computer range has been the number one selling computer for many years thanks to its dynamic performance monitoring — but, few people know that Garmin also offers a range of innovative cycling products such as power meter pedals, indoor trainers (Tacx) and lights.
The Vario radar lights detect when a car is approaching from behind and notifies the rider via the Garmin Edge cycling computer (or cellphone app) and the approaching vehicle via the red flashing light. While the new pedal-based power meters have on- or off-road options that measure power and leg imbalances and seamlessly pairs with the Garmin Edge range of computers and Tacx trainers.
And for riders who are not yet ready to hit the trails but still want to stay fit, Garmin’s Tacx turbo trainers provide a realistic ride feel indoors.
“It is an honour for us as 947 Ride Joburg to partner with a leading brand such as Garmin. Garmin’s range of cycling products makes it safer and easier to stay on your bike throughout the year, and they have the perfect range of products for participants to train and race with.
